The most successful works of art, I believe, transcends the intentions of the artist and take on even greater life and meaning of their own, often revealing inexplicable and surprising truths about ourselves and the artist himself.

RECENT WORK: PORTRAITS OF FRIENDS

Though all the subjects are my acquaintances, I engage my portraits with the hope that through the process I will capture that elusive and mysterious element in each person's countenance, which, sometimes just for a moment, gives us that rare glimpse into a hidden world nobody else knows. It is this aspect of portraiture I find most fascinating.
